Your “how is it only Wednesday?” post

January 27, 2010

It’s a week that is dragging and being totally annoying for some reason. More so than your normal week. Lame.

So! Here’s your weekly Wednesday random.

1. Have you heard and or downloaded “Bedrock” yet?

I’m not sure why I’m quite as obsessed as I am, but it grew on me and I can’t stop listening.

2. Buzzfeed compiled a list of the 35 most ridiculous (awesome) SkyMall products.

My favorites (ones that either made me laugh or want to purchase them):

This is just AWESOME. I love the can holders in the front. If I were or knew a contractor, I’d buy this immediately. “Coasters? We don’t need any stinking coasters!” — who writes these descriptions, and how can I get that job? This woman looks prepared for anything. Totally profesh.

There is apparently a big market for anything that makes drinking alcohol hands-free any easier. How this could prevent sloshing, especially during instances of spontaneous shimmies, is beyond me—but hey, I like where their heads’re at. It makes me wonder what else I should be dreaming up to hang around my neck.

This reminds me of Modern Family (“el diablo!”) and for some inexplicable reason fills me with joy. Also I would nickname him Ross. Also, the fact that someone might need to get rush or next-day delivery on this really makes me wonder.

3. Comment: Avril on Idol—totally weird. Katy Perry on Idol—totally awesome.

Kara: ”We may look back on this audition and go ‘Wow.’ Because you’re the kind of kid who has just enough talent, and just enough of a story and pain and stuff that you’ve gone through in your life to really connect with it. And I think you’re only gonna get better.”
Katy: ”This is not a Lifetime movie, sweetheart.”

4. I (finally) went to the Italian Store on Monday for the first time—a magical, well-kept secret hiding place that smells like heaven must smell and tastes like Philadelphia.

I got the Capri, which looks a lot like the above image (via lunch encounter) and seriously, when I say it tastes like Philadelphia, I mean it. The perfect hoagie (not sub, HOAGIE).

It is potentially deadly (for my cholesterol and butt still fitting into my jeans) that I found a place that sells burratta and Italian hoagies and wine and pasta and cheese….and is less than a mile from my house. DANGEROUS. If you live in Arlington, or even Alexandria, Fairfax, DC, Prince William, Loudon, Richmond, Boston, West Chester, NYC, Chicago…run, don’t walk.

5. Not to make you jealous or anything, but in three days I will be here:

…and I will be happy.

We need more variety in the blogs we read. The SkyMall list was put in the newsletter last night! I debated on whether my comment should be focused on 1) the drinking/sleeping relating items I loved or 2) the alien butler.
