It’s gonna be a bright sunshiney day

April 27, 2010

Hurrah, hurrah! I’ve made it to the final class of spring semester ’10. I embark on a four-month hiatus of the 40-minute drive to campus and parking nightmares that constitute George Mason and Fairfax, Virginia. It’s time for summer! Shore house! LBI! Birthdays! Fireworks! Barbecues! Corn on the cob! Fresh tomatoes! Swimming doggies!

I have truly loved this spring. I think last year’s spring must have been uneventful or crappy, perhaps cooler and rainier, or more likely, a too-fast warm-up to humid and hot temperatures that left me aching for 60 degree temperatures and slowly blooming flowers. This spring was really a treat.

It’s hard to believe that after the winter we had, we’ve gone from this…

to this.

And from this

to this.

All in a few months.

Changing seasons gets me all sentimental. Suddenly you look outside and there is full, growing grass and thick, green leaves on the trees. Where’d the time go?! How is it almost May? Of 2010?!

It all just reminds me of that ever-trite Ferris Bueller quote: “Life moves pretty fast…”
