Recession proof: Potlucks

August 2, 2010

CJ had the idea to host a potluck brunch at our house this past weekend.

Unfortunately I was too busy frying bacon and shoving it in my face, preparing hangover strata and gauging the crispiness of tator tots, and slurping down mimosas and bloody marys to snap pictures of the buffet table, but rest assured we had tons of delicious food and lots of hungry and happy guests.

People brought breakfast quesadillas, a fruit trifle, donuts, muffins, cupcakes, bloody mary ingredients, summer beer, orange juice and champagne, monkey bread, bacon, pulled pork-egg-cheese sammies, spiked iced coffee, and more. We ate, we drank, we watched the premier of Jersey Shore Season 2, and then we went to Georgetown for an afternoon bar crawl.

We started at the Georgetown waterfront.

Darn, we forgot to bring our boat!

We sat around drinking expensive beers and people watching.

It’s very beautiful down by the waterfront.

Then we went to three other bars in Georgetown, spent lots of money on beers and made some interesting choices for dinner food….

(Kenny’s chicken pot pie…)

and then came home and called it a night, after a long and awesome day of friends and fun.

Everyone loves a potluck!
